This is my quick review of the EVS F1 Roost Deflector:
Right now on RMATVMC the current retail price is $83.16, which puts it at your average price range for a roost deflector. It is available in an adult size and a youth size, which initially concerned me. I expected there to be a greater size range for a better fit, but once I received the deflector the concerns of fitment were gone.
The EVS F1 Roost Deflector has adjustable shoulder straps which is helpful in getting it into just the right spot for optimal protection. The "click-tec" style closure system makes it very adjustable and holds tight. Im usually not a big fan of that kind of fastening system but the buckles are strong and provide positive "bite". They have not failed me yet and I am at a year with it. The back plate is also removable if you want to run a front only roost deflector.
I am 5'8, 195 lbs and this roost deflector fits perfect for me. I enjoy that the paneling on the side wraps around my ribs and conforms to my body well. The youth size is recommended for riders up to 120 lbs and adult size for riders 120-200 lbs. It's also low profile so it doesn't appear bulky under your jersey.
Overall I am very impressed and a fan of the EVS F1 Roost Deflector. I think overall if you are looking for some extra insurance this is very good choice.
